The American Institute of Marine Underwriters (AIMU) is delighted to welcome you to the IUMI Chicago 2022 conference. AIMU is honored to have hosted six previous annual IUMI conferences, the most recent one being in 2012 in the city of San Diego.

AIMU’s organizing committee selected Chicago for several compelling reasons: its size, diversity, architecture, and easily accessible location. Chicago is located in the state of Illinois on Lake Michigan and was established as a city in 1837. With a population of 2.7 million, Chicago ranks as the third largest city in the United States, after New York and Los Angeles. It is known as the nation’s railroad capital, with more major railroads serving the city than any other place in America. Chicago is also famous for its abundance of unique architectural styles. The downtown area is connected to the Chicago O’Hare International Airport by a subway train line that operates 24/7.

We look forward to welcoming marine insurance professionals from around the world to experience Chicago’s stunning architecture, lakefront amenities, world-class museums, famous food, bountiful shopping, and the multicultural neighborhoods that are the heart and soul of Chicago! The conference promises to offer delegates presentations on topics of interest, an excellent in person networking opportunity, and a chance to explore a city with much to offer a first-time or returning visitor.

The Chicago Organizing Committee is working passionately to make the conference a successful, memorable, inspirational, and productive event – particularly since the IUMI community was unable to meet in person in Stockholm and Seoul.
